Impedansi merupakan parameter penting yang digunakan untuk menandakan litar elektronik, komponen, dan bahan yang digunakan untuk membuat komponen. Impedansi secara umumnya ditakrifkan sebagai jumlah pembangkang yang peranti atau litar menawarkan ke aliran sesuatu arus bolak pada frekuensi tertentu dan direpresentasikan sebagai kuantiti yang kompleks. Ketika dua plat logam diletakkan bersama-sama seperti sebuah kapasitor dan arus dibekalkan, medan elektrik akan dihasilkan. Sensor bertindak seperti sebuah kapasitor dan ruang sempit di antaranya adalah dielektrik nya. Kapasitan dari sensor mengubah secara langsung dengan pemalar dielektrik bahan di tengah sensor. Ketika tidak ada komponen dimasukkan ke sensor tersebut, dielektrik sensor adalah udara di antara dua plat logam. Ketika komponen yang diuji dimasukkan ke sensor, komponen yang dimasukkan menjadi dielektrik sensor. Dengan mengukur kapasitans dan resistansi sensor tanpa komponen dan dengan komponen dimasukkan dan membandingkan kapasitans dan resistansi yang diukur, ciri-ciri komponen yang diuji sama ada itu adalah sebuah resistor, kapasitor atau induktor dan impedansinya dapat ditentukan. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Impedance is an important parameter used to characterize electronic circuits, components, and the materials used to make components. Impedance is generally defined as the total opposition a device or circuit offers to the flow of an alternating current (AC) at a given frequency and is represented as a complex quantity. When two metal plates are put together like a capacitor and a current is provided, an electric field will be generated. The sensor acts like a capacitor and the narrow space between it is its dielectric. The capacitance of the sensor is directly related to the dielectric constant of the material in the middle of the sensor. When there is no component inserted to the sensor, the dielectric of the sensor is the air between two metal plates. When component under test is inserted to the sensor, the component inserted becomes the dielectric of the sensor. By measuring the capacitance and resistance of the sensor without component and with component inserted and compare the capacitance and resistance measured, the characteristic of the component under test whether it is a resistor, capacitor or inductor and its impedance can be determined.
