CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE SLOPE DELTA MODULATOR AND DEMODULATOR (CVSD)_Muhammad Qayum Bin Omar_E3_2007_875000005_NI
The title of this project is study, design and implementation Continuously Variable Slope Delta Modulator and Demodulator using TMS320C6416 DSP processor. The scope of this project is divided into three main parts. Part one involves the study of the theory of Continuously Variable Slope Delta-modulation (CVSD). The main objective of this CVSD technique is to reduce the slope overload and granular noise. To prove the CVSD objective, MATLAB and SIMULINK is applied as simulation. Second part of the project is to study the architecture of the TMS320C6416 DSP processor. This part involve with understanding the function of board architecture and the Code Composer Studio (CCS). For the last part, CVSD model which is created in MATLAB and SIMULINK was implemented in real time using the DSP processor. The results were divided into two sections; simulation of CVSD and real-time implementation. The first result is using the simulation from the MATLAB and SIMULINK. The results from the scope show that the reconstructed signal, original signal, encoded signal and step size signal. The second result is real-time implementation using the TMS320C6416 DSP processor. For real-time implementation the result is to produce the speech from the CVSD model. The Akram Audio Editor is applied to prove that the CVSD model can generate the speech. Therefore, CVSD modulator and demodulator can be implemented on the TMS320C6416DSP Processor.
