_________________________________________________________________________________________ During the Ka-band propagation experiment with the NASA Advanced Communications and Technology Satellite (ACTS) it was discovered that water on the antenna surfaces during rain causes significant attenuation and it became necessary to predict these losses as accurately as possible. Two experiments are conducted in this final year project. First, the feed is spraying with water and second the rain simulator is build to cause the flow of water on the dish. In both cases, the water flow is driven by gravity and considered to be laminar. The ultimate output parameter for the model is the expected attenuation due to water on the reflector and feed window. The input parameters are the rain rate, temperature and the weather of the day. Data are collected in three different days to ensure that the data validation and different weather may cause different result. As a conclusion, water flow on the dish and the feed may cause significant influences on the attenuation. This can be proved by analyzing the data obtained from the experiment.
