Investigation into a two-spool high bypass turbofan engine performance on ambient flight conditions_Muhammad Zulhilmi Mohd Ridzuan_A2_2014_NI
______________________________________________________________________________________ The purpose of this project is to determine the performances of turbofan engine with respects to ambient conditions. Ambient conditions generally one of the biggest concern in determination of aircraft turbofan engine performance. These conditions include the ambient temperature, ambient pressure, ambient humidity, airspeed and also the flight altitude, which all of these parameters influenced the performances of turbofan. By using Gas Turbine Simulation Program (GSP), these conditions can be conducted with some variables and turbofan data that can be highlighted. One type of turbofan engine model is selected and been built in GSP software with respect to its own design point. The data from off-design analysis also been analysed and finally the overall turbofan performances; thrust output, thrust specific fuel consumption and shaft power of turbines are discussed for each ambient condition. Generally the changes of ambient conditions influenced the air mass flow which finally influenced the performance of turbofan engine.
