Projek ini dijalankan untuk menyiasat kesan bekalan voltan harmonik terhadap persembahan motor aruhan tiga fasa, terutamanya terhadap kelajuan dan kecekapan motor. Dalam projek ini, sejenis pengatur voltan tidak linear, iaitu pemalap cahaya telah digunakan untuk menghasilkan gangguan kepada sumber ac bentuk gelombang sinus kepada setiap fasa motor aruhan jenis sangkar tupai. Tombol pemalap cahaya dikawal dan diubah kepada nilai yang sama untuk ketiga-tiga fasa untuk mendapatkan pelbagai peratusan THDv untuk dibekalkan kepada motor aruhan. Bagi setiap peratusan THDv yang ditetapkan, beban motor ditambah daripada tiada beban kepada beban penuh. Peratusan THDv diukur dengan menggunakan Power Quality Analyzer, iaitu Fluke 43B. Pada setiap beban motor yang tetap, apabila peratusan THDv dibekalkan kepada motor aruhan ditingkatkan, kelajuan motor menurun dan sekaligus menyebabkan kuasa keluaran berkurangan. Penurunan kuasa keluaran menyebabkan kecekapan motor merosot. Motor aruhan ini beroperasi pada kadar maksimum, dengan kelajuan 1489 rpm dan kecekapan 70.14% apabila peratusan THDv yang dibekalkan adalah minimum, iaitu sebanyak 0.9%. ______________________________________________________________________________________ This project is carried out to investigate the effects of harmonic voltage supply to three-phase induction motor performances, especially to speed and efficiency of the motor. In this project, a non linear voltage regulator, which is light dimmer has been used to distort the sinusoidal waveform of the ac source per phase of squirrel-cage induction motor. The knob of the light dimmer is controlled and set to same value for all the three phase to obtain various percentage of THDv supplied to the induction motor. For each of the percentage of THDv, the load is varied from no load to full load. The percentage of THDv is measured by using Power Quality Analyzer, which is Fluke 43B. At constant motor load, as the percentage of THDv supplied to the induction motor is increased, the speed of the motor drop and cause the output power to decrease. The decrease of the output power has decrease the efficiency of the motor. The induction motor has its best performance with highest speed, 1489 rpm and efficiency equal to 70.14% at the smallest percentage of THDv supplied, which is at 0.9%.
