BS EN ISO 3175:1996 is a British Standard (BS) that is also adopted as a European Standard (EN) and an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard. This standard is titled "Textiles - Evaluation of stability to machine dry-cleaning" and provides guidelines for testing the stability of textiles to machine dry-cleaning processes.
The standard outlines procedures for evaluating how well textiles can withstand the mechanical and chemical stresses associated with dry-cleaning using machines. Dry-cleaning is a method of cleaning clothes and textiles without using water, often employing solvents instead.
BS EN ISO 3175:1996 specifies the conditions under which testing should be conducted, including factors such as temperature, solvent types, and cycle parameters. It helps to determine the extent of changes in the textile's physical properties, appearance, and color after undergoing dry-cleaning cycles.
