BS EN 60068-2-64:1995 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for testing equipment and components under severe thermal conditions. The standard is titled "Environmental testing - Part 2-64: Tests - Test Fh: Vibration, broadband random and guidance." The purpose of this standard is to simulate the effects of vibration on electronic equipment and components. The standard specifies a test method that involves subjecting the equipment or components to broadband random vibration at various frequencies and levels, and then inspecting them for any signs of damage or degradation. The standard is important for ensuring the reliability and performance of electronic equipment and components in environments where vibration is a concern, such as in vehicles, aircraft, and other machinery. It is used by manufacturers, testing laboratories, and other organizations involved in the development and production of electronic equipment and components. The standard also provides guidance on the appropriate levels of vibration for different types of equipment and components, as well as recommendations for the mounting and positioning of the equipment during testing. The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of IEC 68. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All normative documents are subject to revision and parties to agreements based on this part of IEC 68 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents listed below.
