BS 7071:1989 - Specification for portable residual current devices

BS 7071:1989 specifies the requirements and performance criteria for portable residual current devices (RCDs) intended for use with portable electrical equipment to enhance protection against electric shock in case of faults to earth. This standard applies to self-contained units that incorporate an RCD and are designed to be connected between a power source (socket outlet) and portable electrical appliances, typically in domestic, commercial, or light industrial environments.
