Air merupakan keperluan bagi setiap tumbuh-tumbuhan dan pengairan perlu dilakukan dari semasa ke semasa untuk membekalkan air yang mencukupi kepada tumbuh-tumbuhan. Namun, orang ramai kini sibuk dengan kerjaya mereka dan mengabaikan penjagaan terhadap tanam-tanaman terutamanya pengairan terhadap tanaman. Oleh itu, sistem pengairan automatik telah dicipta untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini. Namum begitu, kebanyakan penciptaan dan projek sistem pengairan automatik hanya memfokuskan tanaman bagi negara bermusim dan kawasan luar rumah. Pasu pintar dibina sebagai sistem pengairan automatik bagi tanaman di negara beriklim tropika dan sesuai untuk tanaman dalam rumah. Pasu pintar dibahagikan kepada tiga modul iaitu modul kawalan, modul perolehan data dan modul komunikasi. Modul kawalan berfungsi untuk mengawal modul perolehan data dan modul komunikasi. Modul kawalan terdiri daripada cip ATmega328P dan injap. Cip ATmega328P digunakan sebagai unit pengawal mikro (MCU) manakala injap digunakan untuk mengawal pengair air. Modul perolehan data terdiri daripada sensor kapasitif tanah kelembapan yang digunakan untuk mengumpul data kelembapan tanah. Modul komunikasi membolehkan pengguna berkomunikasi dengan MCU melalui Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) dengan menggunakan aplikasi telefon pintar Android. Pengairan tumbuhan adalah berdasarkan data dari pengesan kelembapan tanah. Apabila kelembapan tanah semasa kurang daripada hadnya, pengairan akan dijalankan. Kesimpulannya, pasu pintar boleh menjaga tanaman rumah secara automatik dan membantu orang ramai yang sibuk untuk menjaga tanaman mereka. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Water is the necessity for plants and irrigation must be carried out from time to time to ensure that the plants have enough water to sustain their lives. As most home-based gardening need manual irrigation, the plants are sometimes left without irrigation when people are busy with their career. This leads to the idea of designing automatic irrigation as the solution for this problem. However, the previous works on automatic irrigation system are not applicable for indoor irrigation application or tropical country. Therefore, intelligent plant pot is developed. Basically, the intelligent plant pot is categorized into three modules, namely control module, data acquisition module and communication module. Control module consists of ATmega328P chip as the microcontroller unit (MCU) and also the valve to control the volume of water for irrigation. It is the most important module as it controls the data acquisition module and communication module. Data acquisition module consists of capacitive soil moisture sensor which is used to collect the data of the soil moisture and send to the MCU for further processed. Communication module is another important module as it includes the Android smart phone application which enables the users to communicate with the MCU through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) by using the Android smart phone application. With this intelligent plant pot, the plant species can be chosen through the Android smart phone applications. The plant irrigation is based on the data of the soil moisture sensor. When current soil moisture less than the limit, the irrigation is conducted by opening the valve. With these characteristics mentioned, this intelligent plant pot is believed to be the solution for helping to take care of plants at home.
