Adsorption of methylene blue on activated oil palm ash

Adsorption of methylene blue on activated oil palm ash / Muhammad Hazwan Rahmatullah
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Palm oil ash which is one of the agricultural wastes of the palm oil industry has been modified as a low-cost adsorbed to absorb the Methylene Blue (MB) dye. The palm oil palm is prepared using carbonate ntrium as an enzyme agent. Some adsorption experiments were carried out with various adsorption dose (0.1g-0.4g), dye concentration (25 mg / L-200mg / L), temperature (30 °C, 40 °C, and 50 °C), and pH (3-13). Balanced adsorption data obtained from palm oil ash were analyzed using the Langmuir and Freundich models. The results of the analysis show that the Langmuir model gives the best correlation to this experimental data. The adsorption capacity of the palm oil ash activated to MB using the Langmuir model was 15.314 mg / g, 16.892 mg / g, and 19.157 mg / g at 30, 40, and 50 °C respectively. The kinetic adsorption data have been modeled using the first pseudo-degree kinetic equation and second-order pseudo-degree. It is found that the second pseudo-degree kinetic equation is the best way to explain the value of the charge. The results of this experiment showed that the oil ash was able to absorb MB as low-cost adsorbed
