Abstract BS EN 60371-3-4:1996 is a European standard that specifies the dimensions of tool holders with rectangular axial ends, intended for clamping of indexable inserts for turning tools. The standard is applicable to tool holders for indexable inserts, which have axial clamping screw holes located in a rectangular array with center distances between the clamping screw holes of 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm, and 20 mm. The standard provides details regarding the dimensions and tolerances of the tool holders, including the overall length, width, height, and the size and positioning of the axial clamping screw holes. It also includes information on the material requirements and the marking of the tool holders.
