Kuasa elektrik yang dihasilkan oleh panel suria bergantung kepada jumlah sinaran suria yang sampai ke sel fotovoltan tersebut. Kebanyakan sistem tenaga suria sedia ada menggunakan teknik pemasangan statik untuk panel fotovoltan. Kaedah ini adalah tidak cekap kerana kedudukan matahari yang sentiasa berubah. Kuasa output daripada panel suria akan berkurangan apabila panel tidak menghadap matahari secara langsung. Suatu sistem penjejakan suria satu paksi dibangunkan dalam projek ini untuk mengatasi ketidakcekapan tersebut. Projek ini menggunakan mikropengawal Arduino Mega 2560 untuk memproses data sensor dan mengawal sudut panel suria. Perintang peka cahaya digunakan sebagai sensor suria sebagai penyelesaian kos rendah dan berkesan. Prototaip yang direka mampu mengubah sudut panel suria 75W dari +42° hingga -42° sepanjang paksi timur-barat dengan menggunakan motor penggerak linear. Pembangunan prototaip ini juga mengandungi reka bentuk litar pengukuran kuasa output automatik dan pengelog data. Dari eksperimen yang dijalankan, sistem yang dicadangkan mampu menghasilkan purata 17.63% peningkatan kuasa keluaran berbanding panel suria statik. Sistem pelarasan sudut panel suria automatik adalah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecekapan teknik penuaian tenaga suria sedia ada dengan berkesan. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Electrical power generated by solar panels depends on the amount of solar irradiance reaching its photovoltaic cells. Most of the current solar energy system are using static mounting technique for the photovoltaic panels. This method is not efficient because the sun’s position is always changing. The power output from solar panels will decrease when the panels are not facing the sun directly. A single axis solar tracking system is developed in this project to overcome this inefficiency. This project uses Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller to process the sensors data and control the angle of the solar panel. Light-dependent resistors are used as solar sensor for a low-cost and effective solution. The designed prototype is able to vary the angle of 75W solar panel from +42° to -42° along east-west axis by using a linear actuator motor. The development of the prototype also includes the design of an automatic power output measurement circuit and its data logger. From the experiment carried out, the proposed system is able to produce an average of 17.63% power output improvement compared to static solar panel. The automatic solar panel angle adjustment system aims to reliably increase the efficiency of the current solar energy harvesting technique.
